Performance Technologies Offers SEGway IP-Edge Solution to Cable & Wireless Guernsey

Performance Technologies, a global supplier of integrated IP-based platforms and solutions for advanced communications networks and innovative computer system architectures, announced that Cable & Wireless (News - Alert) Guernsey, a telecommunications provider, is deploying the company's SEGway IP-Edge Solution to help interconnect with other operators outside of the island of Guernsey.

 

SEGway IP-Edge enables service providers to select a routing schema tailored to their network topology. Its advanced routing capability allows service providers to direct all traffic to the core and enables consolidated traffic monitoring and billing. IP-Edge also allows local traffic monitoring, avoiding unnecessary traffic backhaul costs.

 

According to Performance Technologies (News - Alert), IP-Edge's complete suite of standards-based interfaces allows any-to-any connectivity within a time-division multiplexing (TDM), Asynchronous Transfer Mode (ATM), or IP-based network, regardless of an operator's current STP vendor. This reduces the cost of signaling transport by utilizing less costly IP networks.

 

Performance Technologies is deploying SEGway IP-Edge solution for Sure, the trading brand for Cable & Wireless in the Channel Islands and Isle of Man. Sure offers a range of network connections for service providers and other operators. The company has won the licenses to provide fixed and mobile services with a universal service obligation across Guernsey, Alderney, Sark, and Herm.

Performance Technology recently deployed the solution at Cable & Wireless Fiji (Fintel).
