Amdocs Helps Clearwire Improve Customer Experiences

Clearwire has made a number of headlines recently as the company continues to expand its nationwide mobile WiMAX (News - Alert) network in a bid to deliver inexpensive, fast WiFi (News - Alert) for the future.



 
To ensure that the company is able to launch new offerings quickly and that their customers continually have good experiences, they have announced the signing of a multi-year agreement with Amdocs.
 
The new partnership will support Clearwire’s (News - Alert) retail and wholesale business and will include the license and implementation of Amdocs CES 7.5.

Amdocs provides customer experience solutions that bring together software, service and expertise to help customers achieve service, operational and financial excellence. Earlier this year, the company announced a successful expansion in 2008 of its managed services offerings with a number of service providers around the world.

Michael Couture, head of global marketing for Amdocs (News - Alert) said, "We are committed to Clearwire's success and will deliver the systems and services that will help manage new market deployments, subscriber acquisition and the ever-important customer experience."

The company’s Amdocs CES (customer experience systems) portfolio offers service provides an operating environment for delivering an optimal customer experience that the company  says is, “personalized, participatory and timely across any service, location and device.”

For this specific partnership, Clearwire is licensing customer management, self service, billing, mediation, ordering and other products from the portfolio and will lean on Amdocs for management of their existing business support systems (BSS) as well as the conversion process to Amdocs CES (News - Alert) 7.5.

"As Clearwire continues to expand our nationwide mobile WiMAX network, we are investing in proven technology to enable us to launch new products quickly and deliver a powerful customer experience," said Jeff Pearson, vice president of information technology for Clearwire. "By partnering with Amdocs, we will deploy an integrated platform to support a growing customer base and to collaborate more effectively with our wholesale partners."

Last month,  Amdocs signed a new multi-year services agreement with Alcatel-Lucent, for the management of Sunrise Communications network. As per the agreement, Amdocs is maintaining its operational support systems (OSS) which are installed at Sunrise Communications until 2015.
