AT&T, Jasper Wireless Unveil Combined Platform to Wirelessly Connect Emerging Devices

AT&T and Jasper Wireless announced the commercial availability of a combined platform for connecting and supporting emerging consumer electronics and business devices on AT&T’s (News - Alert) wireless network.

 

The multiyear agreement between the two companies will enable wireless connection of personal navigation, in-car navigation, e-readers, mobile Internet devices, gaming, healthcare, tracking and other devices.

 

The AT&T Control Center platform powered by Jasper Wireless (News - Alert) will reduce time to market for connected devices besides offering unique features like instant activation and flexible rate plans which will benefit device manufacturers, end-user customers, consumers, small businesses and enterprises.

 

The suite of applications and services offered by the AT&T Control Center provide automated management capabilities for device manufacturers like instant activation which automatically activates wireless service on powering on the device for the first time. Usage analytics feature gives manufacturers and service provider’s real-time insight into product performance before deployment.

 

Performance assurance tests devices and ensures they are ready for optimum performance before deploying them. In order to cater to particular market segments customized rate plans are drawn up by the flexible business models feature. The design services capability makes devices capable for global deployment within weeks and the customer support facility ensures service continuity with support provided by qualified engineers.
