The research has identified mobile Internet and GPS to be the most important functions attracting users and speaks about the trends that drive the smartphone market from 2007 through 2008.
With its unique user interface (UI), user experience (UE), and business model, Apple’s iPhone (News - Alert) significantly impacted the smartphone market worldwide and especially the Chinese smartphone market.
The iPhone not only created a storm with its features but, according to the research firm, has also set a standard for users’ expectation of entertainment smartphones. In fact, there have been a number of 'me too' products in the market and with several iPhone-like models appearing recently.
Over the next two years, China’s entertainment smartphone market will see plenty of new models with this type of UI/UE, enabled by a touchscreen, and having acceleration and proximity sensors technologies.

The survey collected valuable information about Chinese customer interests, usage patterns, and emerging trends in smartphones.
