Sunrise Telecom's XTT 5000 Handset Test Device Picked by European Telecom CarrierBy Shamila Janakiraman, TMCnet Contributor Sunrise Telecom (News - Alert) has announced that a Tier One European telecommunications carrier has selected its XTT 5000 handset test device which features Fiber Channel testing capabilities. Company officials claim the handheld, lightweight XTT 5000 has dual port capabilities for simultaneously testing two Fiber Channel links thereby reducing the time required on link activation and verification, and boosting workforce productivity for service provider test and measurement technicians.Also the XTT 5000 provides facilities for testing the installation and maintenance of 10 Gigabit Ethernet, Gigabit Metro Ethernet and IP services in addition to helping service providers test 1G, 2G and 4G Fiberchannel links required to connect storage area network services used in high-bandwidth tasks like transactional activity in banking and finance industries. Bahaa Moukadam (News - Alert), Sunrise Telecom’s CEO said the European carrier chose the XTT 5000 as it greatly simplifies the test and measurement process thereby saving on time which can be used more productively in the test and measurement of resources in the field. “Our updated XTT 5000 solution facilitates installation of Ethernet and Fiber Channel links rapidly and efficiently, while reducing operational costs, meeting SLAs, and giving service provider customers more reliable networks,” Moukadam added. Moukadam also said that the European carrier commended the XTT 5000’s overall feature set and intuitive user interface, compact size and its light weight feature compared with competing test and measurement solutions. According to company sources the XTT 5000 provides Web-based remote operation through a LAN, enabling field technicians to remotely access and troubleshoot problems without the need for a site visit. Field personnel will be able to quickly and easily understand the XTT 5000’s intuitive user interface which helps in reducing the expenses and time required for training them.
