IBM has reportedly launched the Coginord Mapping Suite software system, thus offering a complete, personalized business communication solution. The solution comes with document design, print management and multi-channel document delivery facility.


The Mapping Suite software helps companies create, repurpose and synthesize document data from multiple sources, format this data into personalized communications and distribute the resulting documents through various print and electronic methods.

“Nearly every enterprise, large and small, is looking at reinventing business communications - reducing cost, increasing the effectiveness and personalization of documents, and expanding electronic modes of distribution,” says Karen Fukuma, vice president of production print solutions for IBM (News - Alert) Printing Systems, in a press release. “Mapping Suite is comprehensive document middleware aimed squarely at doing just that.”

Mapping Suite has got three integrated modules such as Mapreport, Mapdraw and Mapoffice. Mapreport is a graphical report builder helping clients organize new reports or documents from a range of data inputs including IBM DB2 and Oracle (News - Alert) databases, ERP application data sources, XML data, and text files, among others.

Mapdraw is essentially a document composition system for designing complex, personalized documents. On the other hand, Mapoffice is a mapping module connecting correspondence with data so as to produce automated, customized letter applications.

The Mapping Suite is a revelation when it comes to sending information via print and non-print delivery channels such as IBM's Advanced Function Presentation (AFP), PCL and PDF. Mapping supports various server platforms including IBM System i, System p and System x systems in addition to other servers running the Linux or Windows operating systems.
