Voxbone at ITEXPO: Simplicity Meets the Cutting Edge

By Maurice Nagle, Web Editor

In today’s complex world there is something to be said for simplicity. Innovation is an exhilarating prospect, intended to ease business processes, workflows and overall operations. In order for this to occur, solutions must be user-friendly while still being “cutting edge.”

A hub for this type of innovation and transformational technology, ITEXPO, is taking place this week in sunny, South Florida at the Greater Ft. Lauderdale/Broward County Convention. And, Voxbone, an industry leader in the provision of telephony solutions, sat down with TMC to talk shop as a precursor to the event.

Voxbone VP of Strategic Alliances Hugh Goldstein (News - Alert) explained the firm’s goal is to provide a very simple, easy-to-use platform where cloud communications companies can source telephony. The firm is able to do this by providing services based on a portal and APIs. The beauty of this type of implementation is that it is instantaneous. Client demand is met in a matter of a few keyboard strokes.

Goldstein noted recent robust growth in cloud communications and unified communications that is reflected in business. “Many companies are expanding, particularly beyond the U.S. ... and as they move to new regions they often turn to Voxbone (News - Alert) to facilitate the move.”

The provider of SIP trunking, DIDs, toll free numbers and more has a presence in 57 countries. Voxbone leverages the cloud to provide a wide range of services and ensures exceptional experiences; the next step on the horizon is an area transforming communications: WebRTC.

The firm has a set of WebRTC features and APIs that have been available for over a year. The firm aims to make APIs easier for customers. Specifically, it created a new widget-like usability and delivers the Web-call via SIP trunk. The customer infrastructure remains the same because it is being originated from a website, “making it easier to roll out down the line.” WebRTC is clearly the next step.

One major differentiator is the firm’s server-based model. It takes WebRTC as an add-on to existing IP communication services. Voxbone makes WebRTC deployment easy by delivering it as a service in the SIP trunk. The future holds a massive opportunity in the customer service space and beyond.

By leveraging the cloud, management of communications is easier than ever. Cloud contact center technologies are taking more control over vendor relationships via consolidation—and are able to port numbers in from all over the world.

The 10 year-old firm boasts a wide global footprint, and a key component is a very strict focus on regulatory compliance and a very good understanding of local markets. It serves a range of providers to internationalize and localize services.

The future is bright for Voxbone, with plans of “continuing to deliver high quality SIP trunking, adding new countries and maintaining high standards,” explained Goldstein. Keeping communications simple, hassle-free and in general user-friendly allows the company to focus on the big picture and the bottom line.
