MKN Group is a distributor of IP gear and a VoIP service provider to small and medium businesses in the U.S. and Canada. It’s U.S. brand is called It’s VoIP Time, and co-founder and CEO Bashar Masad says the time for VoIP has indeed arrived.

That’s because, he says, the VoIP industry has reached maturity, quality issues with VoIP have been resolved, and companies like MKN Group offer high-quality service. That’s not to mention that VoIP can deliver savings of up to 70 percent over analog voice, and has provided return of investment for some MKN Group customers within one year.

And now MKN Group’s VoIP Chest solution enables small offices and home offices to get started with VoIP extremely quickly and easily.

VoIP Chest from MKN Group eliminates the cost and implementation challenges of replacing legacy systems and deploying new VoIP solutions. It does that by providing everything a small business needs in one preconfigured package. The initial offer includes three IP phones, a preprogrammed PBX (News - Alert)/router, and one year of unlimited service in either the U.S. or Canada. It is list priced at $399. (MKN Group expects to come out with a package aimed at slightly larger deployments in a couple of months.)

Understanding that different offices have varying needs, MKN Group offers VoIP Chest customers the ability to download different call scenarios from its website so they can implement the setup of their choice. The VoIP Chest ships with the common scenario in which the calls first ring an operator/administrative assistant, then if no one answers go to a secondary phone, then if no one answers go to the operator’s voicemail.

MKN Group was established in 2011 and got its start both in VoIP and as an importer of mobile accessories and other gear. Ultimately, the Toronto-based private business elected to focus solely on VoIP. As a distributor, MKN Group delivers solutions including IP phones, IP cameras, and IP PBXs from such suppliers as Fanvil, Grandstream, and Zycoo. Its VoIP service is focused on North America, but it also offers some international numbers, Masad explains.
