Ifbyphone Reduces DPS' Costs by 20 Percent, Lends Advice to ITEXPO Attendees

By Kelly McGuire, TMCnet Editor

Ifbyphone (News - Alert), a phone automation service provider, recently announced that Dealer Product Services, also known as “DPS”, a marketing solutions provider, has reduced its overhead costs by 20 percent since March 2009 when the company first started using Ifbyphone’s voice broadcasting service.

This announcement comes as Ifbyphone’s CEO Irv Shapiro (News - Alert) is speaking at three separate sessions during TMC’s ITEXPO West in Los Angeles, happening Tuesday, September 1 through Thursday, September 3.

Ifbyphone`s voice broadcasting offering lets businesses automatically deliver interactive phone calls to prospects, customers and vendors.

DPS is using voice broadcasting on behalf of its 1,600-plus automotive retailer clients to automate and streamline their phone calls to customers advertising warranty renewals, oil changes and other services.

“We chose Ifbyphone due to their flexibility and their programming expertise,” said Tim O’Neill, president and chief executive officer of DPS. “They have helped us integrate our systems, streamline processes and automate all of our call delivery.”

At ITEXPO (News - Alert), Shapiro will speak at three different sessions:

· How To VoIP: Numerous Options, Critical Choices – Tuesday, Sept. 1, 9:00 a.m.

· Exploring Applications In The Cloud – Wednesday, Sept. 2, 9:30 a.m.

· Developing Profitable Web 2.0 Solutions – Thursday, Sept. 3, 9:30 a.m.

During the first session, Shapiro will be the sole speaker addressing ISPs entering the VoIP service arena and the numerous choices they face in bringing a service offering to the market. In this discussion, Shapiro will guide attendees on how to choose a platform for offering company services, and will be using real world data to compare the cost versus benefits for these options.

On Wednesday, Shapiro will discuss what is involved with developing voice applications on cloud computing platforms. Joined by top executives from Market Strategy & Analytics Partners, VOIPSA, IntelePeer (News - Alert) and RingCentral, the session will highlight how cloud-based solutions are impacting the market today, challenges and opportunities, as well as what the future holds.

Thursday’s session will discuss Voice-as-a-Web service, namely the act of moving voice from its legacy model to the Web model - a recent trend based in the telecommunications world. During this session, Shapiro will discuss how Web 2.0 programming models, protocols and standards – such as REST, AJAX and XML – can enable Voice-as-a-Web service and the delivery of voice to browser-based applications.
