Biometric facial recognition technology that is accurate and cost effective is fast becoming an important element in security systems. Extending the ability to develop these systems across many platforms, Neurotechnologija , a provider of biometric identification technologies, announced recently the VeriLook 3.0 Software Development Kit (SDK) for biometric facial recognition.
The latest release of VeriLook boasts high speed and accuracy increases as well as the ability to better identify faces. VeriLook 3.0's algorithm can match 100,000 faces per second and detect multiple faces in a single frame while also processing them all simultaneously, a news release noted. VeriLook 3.0 also includes improved False Acceptance Rates (FAR) and False Rejection Rates (FRR)-- by 50 percent compared to version 2.0.
With the new SDK, facial recognition technology systems on Microsoft ( News - Alert) Windows, Linux or the Mac OSX platform can be utilized using just a webcam or security camera.
Algimantas Malickas, CEO of Neurotechnologija commented in a statement to the press, "On the heels of our announcement last month of Verifinger 5.0 for biometric fingerprint identification we are pleased to offer another multi-platform SDK for the development of high precision biometric applications that can be used with a variety of hardware and systems."
