Mexican Broadband Provider Implements Empirix's Hammer XMS

Empirix Inc., a global provider of service quality assurance solutions for new IP communications, has announced that Alestra (News - Alert), Alfa’s and AT&T’s subsidiary telecommunications company, and a provider of broadband, data and voice services in Mexico, has selected the company’s Hammer XMS offering.




Empirix (News - Alert) Hammer XMS is designed to assure both quality of service and an improved end user experience for its enterprise customers. Alestra is hoping to maintain its leading position in the Mexican market by taking this customer-facing approach.

The Alestra network deploys a number of technologies, which can challenge the network in assuring the quality of each call. With the Hammer XMS, Alestra can monitor a call from end-to-end, even when it is transitioning from the IP to non-IP world in a complex networking environment.

As an integrated system, the Hammer XMS is designed to ensure the reliability and quality of next generation services, while also speeding troubleshooting and helping to ensure service providers care for their valuable customers.

The Hammer XMS is a carrier-class monitoring solution that provides complete visualization into real-time IP service quality in a network. This solution also emulates users and devices that interact with voice-centric applications that include making calls, verifying features, measuring voice quality and determining performance, as well as proving system and multi-vendor interoperability of VoIP, NGN and IMS architectures.

“Communications quality is imperative in any industry as it directly affects the end user’s experience and productivity, which are valuable resources in any organization,” said JD Doyle, vice president and general manager, service assurance solutions, Empirix, in the Tuesday statement.

Broadband, data and voice service providers cannot afford to deliver less that high quality services to its customer base. The competition is intense in this industry throughout the world, putting pressure on providers to ensure that they meet high customer service standards. When partnering with companies like Empirix, providers can be well-equipped to meet every changing customer expectations.
