Accesskey IP to Demo Secure Open Internet Broadcasting and STB at NABBy Anil Sharma, TMCnet Contributor AccessKey IP, developer, designer and producer of advanced entertainment and communication devices, says it will unveil its IPTV Security Technology at this year’s NAB convention in Las Vegas later this month “This is the biggest event in the history of the company,” said Bruce Palmer, president, AccessKey IP, in a statement, explaining that its patent pending technology allows the distribution of live real-time streaming of premium high definition content and video-on-demand securely over the open Internet. “This project has been in development for over two years,” he noted. “Our technology provides for secure identification using government level security. We include our detailed forensic watermarking via Verimatrix (News - Alert) that makes it nearly impossible to duplicate content without providing a trail back to the source. The new set top boxes can be configured for straight IPTV, or as hybrid boxes combined with either digital terrestrial, satellite reception or cable along with IPTV (News - Alert), including stereo, composite, S-Video, component and HDMI outputs. The market is being flooded with new STBs, to which Palmer responds that the STB is not the real story. Rather, he says, it’s about the unique technology inside the box. “We modified our USB device and technology to have the versatility to be adapted to work with most Internet-ready STBs,” he explained. For those manufacturers looking to build STBs directly into their televisions, Palmer adds that the AccessKey IP technology can be integrated into those hardware components just as easily. Along with its strategic partners, AccessKey IP will be showing its new technology, including delivering live HD content streaming in conjunction with the IPWorldTV delivery systems and its own technology.
