ConferencePlus to Bring Conferencing Services to Cengage Learning

By Anuradha Shukla, TMCnet Contributing Editor

Stamford, Connecticut-based Cengage Learning, a provider of print and digital instructional and reference materials for the academic, professional and library markets, reportedly has selected ConferencePlus to provide worldwide conferencing services.

Under the agreement, Conference Plus will provide audio, Web, Webcasting and video conferencing services.

Cengage Learning officials say they look forward to working with ConferencePlus (News - Alert) and according to John Hundemer, director Telecommunications for Cengage Learning, the company is confident that its services will benefit the organization.

Noting that both partners are committed to customer service and cutting edge product development, Gary V. Ratkiewicz, senior vice president of Sales at ConferencePlus, said that his company is pleased to be working with Cengage Learning.

“We believe this commitment makes our partnership an excellent fit and will help us to effectively serve Cengage Learning,” Ratkiewicz said.

ConferencePlus has been a wholesale and retail provider of conferencing services since 1988 and is celebrating its twentieth anniversary in the conferencing industry. Last month, the company announced the latest release of its so-called “Share Portal.”

The new innovative content management tool for conferencing is the backbone of a suite of services that will enable ConferencePlus customers to store, publish and share all of their conferencing content, including recordings, media files and any related files, said the officials.

According to a new study by New York-based Access Markets International Partners, Inc., global conferencing market will grow at a compound annual growth rate of 5.9 percent between 2006 and 2012.

Sanjeev Aggarwal, AMI-Partners’ New York-based vice president for SMB Infrastructure Solutions, attributes the increase in relevance of conferencing solutions to the global economic crisis, high travel costs, increase in gas prices, and natural disasters.
