Ingram's Invitational Event to Include UC, VoIP, Data Capture Partners

By Anamika Singh, TMCnet Contributing Editor

Ingram Micro (News - Alert) Inc., a Santa Ana, California-based company that uses technology to help vendors and resellers, reportedly has invited about 700 IT industry channel partners and executives to its VentureTech Network Fall Invitational event in San Diego.

Officials at Ingram say the VTN Invitational brings together solution providers, consultants, experts and technology manufacturers to network and share perspectives. VTN members participate in work shops, panels and roundtables on strategies, tools and tactics for businesses to grow and expand their professional services and technology.

According to VTN council member Tom Rash, president of Northwest Computer Support, VTN has served for six years as a growth catalyst to his business, positioning it among the top solution providers in North America.

“The partnership opportunities and knowledge sharing that occurs within the VTN community, on the Zone, and at our partner Invitationals are second to none,” Rash said.

The company has released no details about the San Diego event’s time and exact location.

Ingram Micro’s vice president of channel marketing, Kirk Robinson, said that more than 90 percent of Ingram Micro’s 470-plus VTN members partner among themselves to grow their business.

VTN is a community driven by growth, partnership and opportunity, Robinson said.

“Our job is to accelerate the success of our VTN members by providing them with the visibility, tools, training, technology and resources necessary to grow their businesses faster, smarter and more profitably,” Robinson said. “We view their success as our success and in the end that is what makes for a great partnership.”

This year’s event will focus on partner enablement, Ingram officials say, and is expected to draw Tiffani Bova of Gartner (News - Alert), Christina Richmond of IDC, Heather Clancy of SWOT Management Group and Paul Dippell of Service Leadership. Other IT channel executives including Cisco Systems’ Wendy Bahr, HP’s Ramona Thibeault, IBM’s Harris Warsaw, and Microsoft’s (News - Alert) Robert Deshaies are also expected.

At the event, Ingram officials say they plan to present their Innovative Technology Solutions (News - Alert) corners, which consist of VAR-led demonstrations on emerging technologies such as virtualization, unified communications, VoIP, security, digital signage, Apple (News - Alert) design solutions, data capture and point-of- sale, digital home, mobility and The Electronic Classroom.
