Audience Voice Processor Powers SKY Hush from SK Telecom

By Anuradha Shukla, TMCnet Contributing Editor

Audience (News - Alert), a voice processor company has announced that their voice processor based on the intelligence of the human hearing system is powering SK Telecom’s new mobile phone offering, SKY Hush [IM-S350], available now in Korea.

IM-S350, according to Audience is the second of the new “Noise Suppression” series of phones from SK Telecom (News - Alert) (SKT) with Audience's noise suppression technology.

While existing technologies only amplify the sounds in a cellular phone conversation and do not discriminate between the voices and the din and static, SKT’s noise suppression cell phones can identify and separate the voice from the noise. This capability effectively removes external disturbances and enables consumers to enjoy clear communications from almost anywhere.

Audience Voice Processor (News - Alert) was chosen after SKY evaluated a number of noise suppression solutions and found the Audience Voice Processor to be the most advanced in the market.

Won H. Huh, senior researcher, SKY R&D Center observed that Audience Voice Processor moves voice quality to a new level in their new phone, and expects their customers will be thrilled to use their phones in places previously unimaginable.

Jennifer Stagnaro, VP of Marketing, Audience noted that Korean consumers are among the first in the world to benefit from the clear mobile communications enabled by the Audience Voice Processor, and said their company expects this trend to move rapidly to other markets around the globe.

Modeled after the human hearing system, the Audience Voice Processor handles signals the way people actually perceive specific sounds, and is thus able to identify and suppress noise sources in an extremely efficient and accurate manner.

Audience is a voice processor company that enables clear communications anywhere with noise suppression technology based on the intelligence of the human hearing system. The company officially launched its business in Korea in July and is working closely with major mobile customers in Korea, including SK Telecom and LG Electronics (News - Alert) to increase its presence in the local market.
