Sierra Wireless Announces Availability of AirCard USB 307 Modem in Spain

Sierra Wireless has announced availability of its AirCard USB 307 modem in Spain for the new HSPA+ mobile broadband network operated by Telefonica.

Telefonica has announced that HSPA+ will be initially introduced in Madrid and Barcelona with plans to expand coverage to include 78 percent of the population by the end of next year.

The AirCard USB 307 modem offers download speeds of up to 21 Mbps and upload speeds of up to 5.76 Mbps on the 900 and 2100 MHz HSPA bands used in Europe. The modem can be used freely world wide on UMTS and GSM/EDGE networks making it suitable for mobile professionals.

Sierra Wireless unveiled its AirCard USB 306 and 307 modems for HSPA+ networks at Mobile World Congress (News - Alert) earlier this year besides offering HSPA+ modems commercially.

AirCard HSPA+ products are available on six HSPA+ networks globally and Sierra is planning to launch products on four other networks soon. The Sierra Wireless AirCard USB 307 will be available through Telefonica’s enterprise sales channels along with a flat rate service plan.
