Broadpoint Inks a Multi-Year Roaming Agreement with T-Mobile USABy Anshu Shrivastava, TMCnet Contributor Broadpoint, a full-service telecommunications and network solutions company, has announced the signing of a multi-year roaming agreement with T-Mobile USA.
T-Mobile (News - Alert) USA, a subsidiary of Germany-based Deutsche Telekom's T-Mobile International business, provides wireless voice and data communications services to subscribers throughout the U.S.
Broadpoint is a provider of sophisticated cellular, satellite and 2-way radio communications; custom-engineered and emergency solutions; and antenna and tower services; and also broadcast support solutions ranging from simple uplinks to integrated satellite and fiber solutions.
This agreement enables T-Mobile’s customers to have access to wireless voice, data and short message service (SMS) service while in and around the Gulf of Mexico.
The contract calls on Broadpoint to provide T-Mobile customers access to its GSM/GPRS/EDGE network. Company officials said that the network extends over 100,000 square miles into the Gulf of Mexico.
This latest announcement comes on the heels of an earlier announcement in April this year of expanded coverage in deepwater areas of the Gulf. Officials said that it highlights Broadpoint’s continued commitment to network investment.
“We are very pleased to establish this strategic alliance with a highly-respected company such as T-Mobile,” said Errol Olivier, president and CEO at Broadpoint.
Olivier said that both Broadpoint and T-Mobile are committed to providing the “highest quality” communications experience possible for customers who have come to depend on mobile connectivity for personal and business reasons no matter where they work or travel, including those customers that work offshore.
Earlier in June, the company had also announced a multi-year agreement with International Construction Group (ICG), a wholly-owned subsidiary of International Offshore Services.
