Ooma PureVoice: The New Standard for Home Phone Voice Quality

Ooma, Inc. unveiled today, Ooma PureVoice technology, designed to ensure excellent voice quality under the most demanding broadband conditions.

According to company officials, the new offering includes four key components: Advanced voice compression; Wire-speed QoS; Adaptive redundancy and Encrypted calls.

"Ooma is dedicated to improving our customers' home phone experience. With today's announcement of PureVoice Technology and the added features of Google (News - Alert) Voice Extensions and Voicemail Transcription for our Premier subscribers, we are excited to take the next step in making the home phone experience relevant and meaningful again," said Tami Bhaumik (News - Alert), vice president of corporate marketing at Ooma.

Bhaumik also noted that Ooma's goal is to provide features that continue to improve the home calling experience, including integrating home and mobile calling features to save consumers time and money.

Ooma has also announced the availability of new home smartphone features including Google Voice Extensions and Ooma Voicemail Transcriptions.

With Ooma, customers have an easier, more enhanced Google Voice experience as well since they can take advantage of the complementary capabilities found in both offerings and have a truly integrated and seamless phone experience.

For example, Google Voice users can integrate Call Presentation, Listen In, and caller-ID features with their Ooma system as well as access Google Voice voicemail at the touch of a button.

In addition, Ooma Voicemail Transcription converts Ooma voicemail messages into text and delivers it to a mobile phone or e-mail account associated with the Ooma profile.
