Netcordia Awarded VoIP Network Analysis Patent

By Jyothi Mahalingham, TMCnet Contributor

Netcordia (News - Alert), an Annapolis, Maryland based network administration software providing company, has announced the receipt of patent for its newly introduced technique of discovering and diagnosing problems in VoIP networks.

The newly introduced NetMRI software has an exclusive inbuilt network topology discovery and analysis capability that allows the network managers to speedily and easily recognize the basis of degradation in a VoIP network performance for improving the speed.

Currently, VoIP networks are gaining momentum due to the availability of cost effective options and offered quality voice communications. These VoIP networks are regularly plagued by sudden surfacing of a normal hidden problem causing havoc in the complete network, which requires time consuming troubleshooting.

Netcordia’s NetMRI 4 has inbuilt capabilities to deal face-to-face with most of the common problems in a VoIP network. The software maps the call paths between the origin and the destination instruments and assesses all the related call concerns.

Deploying distinctive topology discovery and analysis, NetMRI pinpoints precise problems that plague the network thus doing away with the time consuming process of problem identification. Also the software removes the nagging fear in the minds of network managers about the issues that did not show up and allow them to concentrate and spend quality time on other important issues.

NetMRI concentrates in identifying the VoIP issues covering the following three basic status indicators along the call path:

  • Recent related changes in the network
  • Possible configuration changes in the VoIP network
  • Non-observance of policies and recent violations

The resultant details and analysis will provide the VoIP operators with easy to follow type of diagnostic charts that present details on all the possible costly mess-ups and singularly point out the basic reason for the problem and the resultant network outage.

“VoIP communications deliver outstanding value to organizations, but cause network complexity to skyrocket,” Don Pyle, CEO of Netcordia, said. “NetMRI is the network managers’ essential toolkit to ensure calls go through, and VoIP troubleshooting doesn’t eat up their day.”

Netcordia offers network configuration to big as well as medium type of enterprises engaged in the fields of higher education, healthcare, finance and banking, manufacturing and government services.
