VoIP Phones the Wave of the Future: MincherBy Amy Tierney, TMCnet Web Editor These days, there aren’t many business phones that don’t have the Voice over Internet Protocol capabilities. In fact, recent research shows that more than 70 percent of new phone installations have a component of Voice over IP.
And according to one industry expert, VoIP and hosted solutions are only going to grow in popularity. Customers are moving away from buying a premise based solution and instead are looking toward buying a hosted solution, Braun Mincher, an entrepreneur and communications expert, said.
“Savvy businesspeople are seeing that it is no longer necessary to make a huge capital investment in a PBX (News - Alert) system that will be immediately outdated and require expensive ongoing service, upgrades and support,” Mincher said in a statement. “The hosted platform is a better alternative that easily allows scalability for a predictable monthly cost per user.”
Mincher, who recently returned to the telecom industry, is now backing FreedomVOICE’s FreedomIQ Hosted VoIP PBX solution. FreedomVOICE (News - Alert), an Encinitas, Calif.-based hosted VoIP PBX service lets businesses and professional offices interact more effectively with customers, clients, patients and associates. The author of “The Secrets of Money: A Guide for Everyone on Practical Financial Literacy” talked about the importance of selecting the right hosted VoIP provider with FreedomVOICE.
“We chose to partner with FreedomVOICE because they have a very similar story to us,” Mincher said in a statement. “They are a 13-year-old company and are privately held, as PCG is. They are debt free, as PCG is, and they are profitable. They are not our only option for customers, but they are our preferred option.”
Mincher, who in 1997 launched PCG Consulting Group, a company focused on customer savings through a bill auditing and analysis model, and experienced immediate success, and later dabbled in the installation and service sector by forming an AltiGen (News - Alert) IP-PBX dealership, is a past recipient of the Ernst & Young / Inc. Magazine “Entrepreneur of the Year Award.”
With the addition Mincher’s business, the FreedomIQ Hosted VoIP service is expected to expand its reach and solidify its reputation as the premier hosted VoIP provider for businesses in the U.S., company officials said.
In other news, FreedomVOICE developed a program to offer VoIP services without charges to alleviate the financial burdens of U.S. military personnel serving overseas. The "Military Suspension Plan" lets soldiers using the FreedomIQ VoIP service keep their contract with FreedomVOICE with no obligation to pay monthly fees while traveling abroad for military purposes.
As TMCnet recently reported, FreedomVOICE has been ramping up its reseller relationships and customer care service with the recent appointment of a special projects manager for the company focused on offering resellers best-in-class support and will make various improvements to the customer experience.
