Batelco Intros VoIP Service for Low-cost International Calls

Batelco, an integrated telecommunications provider, announced that its customers can make VoIP calls to international destinations using its fixed and mobile services.

 

The new service eliminates the need for calling cards. Customers can now use an international direct calling (IDD) feature to reach people around the world. This feature is accessed by dialing 1-2-2, the country code, and then the phone number.

 

Call rates will remain same throughout the day and are charged on a per-second basis.

 

The company’s Board Secretary and Company Spokesperson, Ahmed Al Janahi, said the VoIP calling feature will save users up to 91 percent on international calls to most countries around the world.

 

“One of the key advantages of the service is you don't need to buy calling cards anymore, and waste time scratching to reveal the code number,” Al Janahi said. “Just enjoy the cheapest International rates from any Batelco phone - mobile or fixed line.”

 

Batelco’s latest offer to its customers includes a free solar charger. Currently, anyone who subscribes to, or upgrades to, a Batelco Freetime 400, Freetime 2000 or Valuetime plan will receive a free solar charger valued at Bahrain Dinar (BHD) 12 (about $32), in addition to free registration — value of BHD 5 (about $13), along with free minutes and SMS.
