Shift Networks today said that it will offer assistance to customers in the Abbotsford area of Alberta, Canada, when WebNet Global Communications terminates VoIP phone and Internet services in the area.

 

The Alberta-based Shift Networks officials said that the company will provide alternate telephone services to affected customers, with or without a live Internet connection, in less than 48 hours.

 

The affected customers are expected to lose both Internet service and telephone service provided by WebNet. For these customers, officials said that the company is planning to provide core telephone functionality by redirecting calls to a variety of devices such as cell phones.

 

“We are able to activate WebNet customers on Shift's service in minutes,” said Pina Romolo, business development manager at Shift Networks. “Providing they are able to call forward their existing numbers to a newly assigned Shift number, they can begin to handle calls immediately.”

 

She also said that in addition, if they have an existing high-speed Internet connection, they can simply plug in a Shift phone that company can priority ship and they are ensured business continuity.

 

“Shift has set up a priority option on their toll-free main number for Abbotsford customers that wish to discuss their options with Shift,” Romolo said.
