Sangoma Supports Call Recording Success

By Greg Galitzine, Group Editorial Director

Michael Shevelev is President of Trisys, Inc., a Florham Park, NJ-based provider of various productivity and management tools that include call accounting and call recording solutions.

Trisys, which has been in business since 1984, is traditionally well known for their TAPIT telephone call accounting software. Several years ago Shevelev and his team recognized a gap in the call recording market and developed a plan to address that opportunity.

“We realized there was a sizable market for call recording solutions to small and medium sized business,” Shevelev told TMCnet. “While call recording solutions were always out there, they were very expensive, so only very large companies could afford them. We decided to offer an affordable solution, that’s easy to use; something that works very well, that any business can afford.”

Replay is the name for Trisys’ call recording family of products. The solution comes in several varieties or “flavors” depending on what type of environment or connectivity the customer has.

Replay T1 records voice activity over T1 PRI trunks. This turnkey system attaches in the front of PBX (News - Alert) or a channel bank, and features enough storage for up to 11,000 hours of voice logging.

Replay ATS (for analog or trunk station) is designed to record voice activity over the analog ports — trunks or stations. This system can be installed in the front of PBX for trunk recording or behind the PBX for selective station recording. Replay ATS also offers storage for up to 11,000 hours of voice logging.

Replay ST works with most analog and digital telephone systems. The equipment is simple, effective and affordable as the solution simply runs on a PC without the need for any additional equipment. There are two components to Replay ST: a hardware interface component that connects the telephone to a USB port on the PC, and an easy to use Windows-based application that records phone conversations.

Replay DS, for Digital Station, is a rather sophisticated product, somewhat more expensive than the others, but more configurable.

Last but not least is Replay for Voice over IP, which is a software only product.

Shevelev explained that Trisys uses Sangoma Technologies’ (News - Alert) A102 and A104 cards in their Replay T1 solution. He was quick to point out the many reasons that the company chose Sangoma solutions to serve as building blocks.

“One of the reasons,” Shevelev said, “was that the price was right. Also, the quality of their product is superb. But the main reason is that they are very responsive and very helpful and they offer tremendous support. To be honest, this last item is the most important for someone like myself.”

“We looked at several different products and even tried several different products and basically decided, that hands-down Sangoma is a far better product and what’s especially more important is they are far better people. They are really out there to help you.”

Trisys is not unique in this regard. Customers often cite Sangoma’s ability to service them in times of need.

“This is my livelihood,” Shevelev continued. “If I have an issue I can call them. They will work with me. I don’t have to chase anyone around, I’m not going to get wishy washy answers — they will be there.

“I’m not saying they can solve every possible issue in the world, but the fact is, with Sangoma, you are not alone.”

Shevelev concluded, “We are a small company and we’ve been in business for a long time. The reason we can be in business for so long is that we stand behind our products, and we have very long term relationships with our resellers, and we can not afford to get them upset, because we would lose them, so we need to have quality products. That’s why those partners who supply the components to our products have to have the same philosophy as we do.”
