Wideband Solutions Extends Market Presence of VoIP Conferencing Hardware
By Erik Linask, Associate Editor, Internet Telephony magazine
In an age where the number of businesses expanding their communications solutions — including migrating to VoIP and other IP-based multimedia communications solutions, it is virtually impossible for vendors to go directly to market with their products. The simple fact is they would need an almost obscenely large sales force, which is neither practical nor fiscally responsible.
As such, solutions vendors are constantly expanding their partnerships and distribution channels to increase their market presence. Not only does this afford them the opportunity to grow their customer base, but it also drives interoperability with other vendors’ solutions, which subsequently leads to a more complete solution for customers — and happier customers by extension.
To extend its reach, Plainville, Connecticut-based Wideband Solutions has added Visitec Marketing Associates to its distribution channels, allowing for Wideband’s audio conferencing equipment to be paired with solutions and products from other vendors, like Tandberg’s ( News - Alert) VoIP systems, among others.
WideBand Solutions’ conferencing systems, headed by its SimphoniX and WebCall product lines, integrate the latest speech processing technologies to deliver clean, crisp audio. By adding Wideband’s products to their existing platforms, customers are able to easily convert their VoIP or digital phone systems into fully functional, high quality conferencing systems.
Traditional conferencing platforms have been designed to deliver PSTN quality audio, but the growth of next generation technologies, including telepresence solutions from a number of vendors, has driven the need for enhanced sound quality, in a variety of environments. Wideband’s SimphoniX systems are an ideal addition to this new breed of converged communications platform to create an combined audio and video experience that meets the needs of even the most demanding customer.
In addition, Windeband’s WebCall WC301 echo cancellation mixer was developed with the intent of providing a simple plug and play alternative to enhance work group conferencing applications. It can be easily connected to a computer’s sound card, or to a variety of VoIP phones, to provide high quality audio to users.
“WideBand ( News - Alert) is a natural tie-in to the existing AV work we are already involved in at Visitec,” said Chris Rees, president of Visitec. “The great thing about WideBand products is that they can operate as a stand-alone or can be integrated into a larger conferencing system. This is a necessary component since most companies are now looking for both audio and video conferencing capabilities.”
