NewMarket Technology to Combine VoIP and Wireless Subsidiaries
By Calvin Azuri, TMCnet Contributing Editor
NewMarket Technology (News - Alert) Inc. is planning to combine its existing Wireless Broadband and Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) operations, according to a Market Wire news report. The company had recently beta tested delivery of wireless broadband to developing economic regions across the world, representing a substantial market opportunity. NewMarket has currently generated approximately $20 million in annual sales from South America and another $30 million in revenue from Asia, from other technology products and services.
NewMarket offers municipal broadband solutions in North America in addition to delivering VoIP services that include delivering VoIP over a wireless broadband network. The company presently delivers these services through two separate operating subsidiaries, RedMoon, Inc. (RedMoon Broadband) and IP Global Voice, Inc. The subsidiaries are expected to generate more than $20 million in profitable annual revenue. NewMarket's VoIP operation, independently, generated approximately $10 million in revenue in 2006. NewMarket had previously predicted $10 million in annual sales from its wireless broadband operations.
In a marketing initiative that was launched in late 2006, the company had tested the viability of a municipal wireless broadband solution, which can deliver VoIP to municipal residents as well as provide the city with water and electric distribution management.
