OVOPhone Addresses Puerto Rican VoIP and Telephony Needs
By Anuradha Shukla, TMCnet Contributing Editor
OVOPhone has reportedly launched a new, more affordable alternative for Puerto Rico residents’ telephony needs.
OVOPhone provides telephony services over the user’s high-speed or broadband Internet connection resulting in huge savings.
“OVOPhone gives thousands of Puerto Ricans who have high-speed Internet access the opportunity to drastically reduce their phone bills,” said Albizu García, president of OVO Corporation in a statement to the press.
With OVOPhone all the calls made to the United States, as well as intra-island calls, are considered local. This completely eliminates long-distance charges for calls to the U.S.
Since OVOPhones offers residential plans starting at just $12.99 a month and business plans starting at just $39.99 a month, it offers a very affordable alternative for business owners as well.
Users can either choose a new telephone number with a 787 area code or transfer their existing telephone numbers. All OVOPhone plans include free unlimited incoming calls and free unlimited OVOPhone to OVOPhone calls.
The company points out that OVOPhone gives its users independence from their Internet providers as they can change their Internet provider without worrying about their service being interrupted or dealing with long waits to transfer their phone numbers.
When customers move, they can simply unplug their OVOPhone at their old residence and plug it in their new residence. Additionally, OVOPhone does not force customers into a contract enabling users to cancel at any time without penalties.
“OVOPhone gives its users many advantages, like being able to take their OVOPhones with them and using the service from any country in the world via high-speed Internet, or being able to activate up to 11 functions free of cost, for which they have to pay extra with their traditional phone service, like Voicemail, Call Waiting, Caller ID, and many others,” said García.
“Also, each user will have access to their own Control Panel on the Web, where they will be able to manage their accounts and activate or deactivate their phone functions,” he concluded.
OVO Corporation is based in Puerto Rico and plans to expand to the U.S market.
