Sipera Extends VoIP Security Products Line to Enterprise Branch Offices

By Anuradha Shukla, TMCnet Contributing Editor

Sipera Systems has extended its line of VoIP security products to enterprise branch offices.

Enterprises with multiple offices can use the new Sipera IPCS 210 for seamless, centralized policy implementations. The new release increases flexibility in determining how to best protect VoIP and other IP communications applications against attacks, misuse, and service abuse.

The Sipera IPCS 210 also supports secure enterprise deployment of IP phones, soft phones, WiFi (News - Alert)/dual-mode phones, SIP trunks and Click-to-Talk or Web phone applications, without compromising established security policies.

“VoIP, IM and other unified communications are part of today’s IT fabric, but security vulnerabilities are a growing concern,” said Albert Rodriguez, president at VoIP service provider AGN Networks (News - Alert), in a statement.

Rodriguez continued: “There is a lot of interest from our customers in the Sipera IPCS products, to meet the growing need for comprehensive VoIP security deployed at the customer premise.”

Designed for SMB and branch offices of up to 200 users, the Sipera IPCS 210 ensures enterprises can confidently deploy unified communications including VoIP, IM, video and multimedia. Based on the Sipera IPCS 310 technology, the IPCS 210 offers comprehensive VoIP Intrusion (News - Alert) Prevention and VoIP Anti-Spam capabilities.

The IPCS 210 and IPCS 310 devices also offer expanded VoIP Firewall/SBC functionality with this release. This enable enterprises to solve firewall/NAT issues, and apply granular signaling, media and security policies to every VoIP, IM and multimedia session based on network, user, device and time of day.

Krishna Kurapati, Sipera founder and CTO believes giving customers choices and flexibility is particularly important as new technology is integrated into existing enterprises.

“For enterprises of various sizes and configurations, comprehensive application-layer and end-user security is a prerequisite to deploying today's growing suite of VoIP and collaborative applications,” said Kurapati.

Kurapati continued: “For enterprises with distributed branch operations, the IPCS 210 allows firms to cost-effectively deploy unified communications without compromising security requirements.

Sipera Systems provides enterprises and service providers with comprehensive VoIP security solutions that protect, control and manage real- time unified communications.
