Covad in Small Business VoIP and Broadband Distribution Deal with TBI
By Johanne Torres, TMCnet Contributing Editor
Covad (News - Alert) Communications just inked a business VoIP and broadband deal with Telecom Brokerage (News - Alert) Inc. (TBI), a telecom service distributor. The new agreement will allow TBI's distribution network of independent sales partners to sell Covad's VoIP and broadband products to small businesses.
TBI will sell Covad's suite of business class solutions comprised of DSL, T1, and hosted and non-hosted voice services. The services will be sold under TBI's Master Agency program.
"Covad is pleased to partner with TBI to increase our reach into the small business market and provide them with industry-leading VoIP and broadband solutions," commented Covad's Tim Gaines, senior vice president of sales for the company's Covad Branded Service division. "TBI's well-trained professional sales staff is a perfect complement to our customer-centric approach of being easy to do business with."
Covad had announced a similar deal with Venture Group Enterprises (VGE), a telecom marketing agency. The partnership currently allows VGE's network of distribution partners to sell Covad's VoIP and broadband systems also to small businesses.
Covad started off the year by announcing that HIS Communications Services chose to deploy its ClearEdge Integrated Access, a voice and broadband service offering, to enhance the company’s business continuity features at its Houston-based headquarters. HIS will deploy Covad ClearEdge Integrated Access in strategic locations where the company wants to target its offering in the fields of aerospace, energy, hotel, retail, and financial services.
