VoIP
service provider Jinan Yinquan Technology Co., Ltd. and telecom operator China Tie Tong have reportedly inked a deal which will allow Jinan Yinquan’s VoIP products to be accessed in areas outside of China Tie Tong’s Metropolitan Area Network, also known as MAN. In other words, using Jinan Yinquan’s softswitch IP
system, consumers can gain access to VoIP services even without the MAN.
Jinan Yinquan Technology is a subsidiary of China VoIP and Digital Telecom Inc. and is a leading enterprise in the QiLu Software Park. The company provides VoIP services to three provinces and 19 cities in the People’s Republic of China, and plans to expand further throughout the country. The company specializes in researching and developing network communication technology. The company likewise offers various products for both individuals and enterprises.
Meanwhile, China Tie Tong is one of the six licensed telecommunications providers in China, with 31 provincial branches, over 300 municipal branches and five subsidiaries. The company offers basic services, such as domestic and international voice and multimedia communications. The company also offers high-speed broadband services via its five-fiber loop optical transmission network.
The deal represents an expansion of the ongoing partnership between the two companies. It aims to increase Jinan Yinquan’s subscriber base while at the same time allowing China Tie Tong to access these consumers. For the users, the tie-up will mean being able to use VoIP technology - specifically making telephone calls anywhere in the world - at lower fees.
VoIP, which stands for Voice over Internet Protocol, allows IP networks, such as the Internet, to be utilized for voice communications. Voice data is broken down into digital packets, which are then transmitted over data networks. VoIP services include voice chats, teleconferences and voice instant messaging. This kind of technology has provided a cheaper alternative to long-distance telephone calls.
