Chinese motorcycle company Chongqing Zongshen Motorcycle Group (Zongshen) needed to revamp its communications systems and effectively connect its headquarters to 49 branches across China. Zongshen’s business has been on the rise and needed to increase efficiency without sacrificing customer satisfaction. So, it sought out a cost-effective telephony solution that would enable its employees to work more productively and responsively — that solution turned out to be Avaya’s IP telephony solution.
The company chose Avaya (News - Alert) IP Office, a solution designed for small and mid-sized businesses (SMBs) and branch offices of large enterprises.
“Businesses in China are keen to adopt IP communications technologies to enhance efficiency and get access to rich communications. And they want to do this in a cost effective way with protection of existing investment. This is especially so with small and medium businesses, as well as branch offices of large enterprises,” said William Hua, China country manager, Small and Medium Business Group, Avaya.
Avaya IP Office is an all-in-one solution specially designed to meet the communications challenges facing SMBs. Built on Avaya latest advancements in converged voice and data technology, IP Office supports a wide range of telephones but the 5400 series Digital phones and the 5600 series IP phones have been specifically designed to work with IP Office and provide businesses a choice of solutions to meet business efficiency and customer service requirements.
Zongshen employees, regardless of their location, can now enjoy the rich and secure IP telephony functionalities Avaya provides. For instance, with the platform’s Fax over IP technology, daily reports can be easily exchanged; with the built-in conferencing bridge, managers can quickly and easily organize meetings attended by staffers from different offices.
Despite being deployed in 50 locations, the system can be managed and maintained from a single, central location. That said, each branch office has its own independent switching functionality, ensuring that branch communications would suffer no interruption should the central system fail.
“The Avaya IP Office solution is easy to install and manage, and can work well with our existing telephone system. It offers us a convenient path to migrate to an IP communications platform,” said Liu Daoshuang, IT Director of Zongshen.
Naturally, Zongshen wanted a scalable system that could grow as the company grows, which Avaya’s modular architecture offers — it scales easily from 2 to 360 extensions. New users can be quickly and easily added as the need arises. Furthermore, the optional Compact Contact Center package Avaya offers enables added contact center functions as they are needed. With the added contact center functionality, the Avaya system will function as Zongshen’s internal communications system as well as its external customer service platform.
