Duncan Cable Selects EchoStar's ViP-TV to Deliver HD Video Services

EchoStar Satellite (News - Alert) Services, a subsidiary of EchoStar Corporation, recently announced that it has signed an agreement to deliver its ViP-TV service to Duncan Cable TV in Vermont. With the help of ViP-TV-connected headend, Duncan Cable is able to deliver over 45 popular high definition TV channels.


Over 2,800 residents and businesses in Southern Vermont are benefited from Duncan Cable's video services. With this agreement, Duncan is able to use a platform that would enable it to deliver competitive HD video services using its current IP network.

Cliff Duncan who is the owner of Duncan Cable TV said that 'ViP-TV's IP-encapsulated, high quality HD channels easily integrated with our IPTV (News - Alert) SDV solution, allowing us to expand our range of programming. It cost-effectively fulfills our need for both HD and IPTV, giving us a competitive edge in the marketplace.'

This new ViP-TV solution from EchoStar provides safe delivery of over 250 accepted, broadcast-quality TV and music channels in Internet protocol MPEG-4 format.
