Verizon Launches Free Wireless Workshops for SeniorsBy Anuradha Shukla, TMCnet Contributor Verizon Wireless, a subsidiary of AT&T and T-Mobile launched ‘Wireless Wednesday Workshop’ especially for senior citizens to teach them about the new advances in wireless technology, occurring every day. These free VERIZON WIRELESS WEDNESDAYS will help seniors navigate the ever-changing world of wireless technology.
One-on-one training and personal assistance will be given by device experts to help seniors learn how to make the optimum use of their wireless device. The topics to be discussed would range form basics like programming frequently called numbers into your phone and retrieving your voicemail messages. Seniors can learn advance features like downloading helpful applications that can simplify their life, including patient medication reminders and turn-by-turn, audible directions.
Verizon (News - Alert) Wireless, in the collaboration with Primeplus Norfolk Senior Center will provide this service on Feb. 17 from a.m. to 11 a.m. March 17 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., April 21 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., May 19 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Norfolk Fitness and Wellness Center, 7300 Newport Avenue, Norfolk, VA.
Primeplus Norfolk Senior Center is serving individuals 50 and older in South Hampton Roads. The organization offers wide variety programs and classes for Active Adults, especially individuals in need of respite and special assistance, including those with Alzheimer's and/or Dementia. It provides opportunities for seniors to learn, grow and participate in activities that meet their emotional, social, intellectual and economic needs.
