Minnesota Twins Select Blast Motion for Advanced Player Development and Swing Analysis
Blast Motion, an information company that provides motion analysis and
performance insights, today announced that the Minnesota Twins will
integrate Blast technology into their organization. The Blast sensors,
Pro Team mobile apps, and cloud services have been designed to easily
integrate into MLB (News - Alert) training programs to provide everything from
real-time swing analytics to in-game data capture for post-game
analysis. By utilizing Blast, the Twins will have access to advanced
swing information to be used across player development, analytics, and
scouting throughout their organization.
"We are excited to integrate Blast Motion's technology throughout our
entire baseball operations," said Daniel Adler, Minnesota Twins,
Director of Baseball Operations. "We look forward to utilizing the
valuable data and information that Blast can provide to our coaches and
players, with applications across player development, analytics, and
scouting."
Blast Baseball is the Official Bat Sensor Technology of Major League
Baseball and is utilized by several MLB teams in addition to the Twins.
Blast data and metrics have become the industry benchmark for swing
evaluation and has been validated by The
Center for Human Performance for accuracy and consistency. In
addition to MLB organizations, the adoption of Blast technology is
expanding to several collegiate programs, elite travel teams, high
schools, and baseball academies. Coaches and players of all ages and
skill levels use Blast to help drive and measure improvement through
objective swing data, video and 3D visualizations, advanced insights,
and personalized performance reports.
"As a native Minnesotan and life-long Twins fan, being able to provide
solutions and insights to help a great organization become even better
is extremely exciting," said Roger Weingarth, Blast Motion, President
and COO. "Through our work with the majority of the MLB teams, we've
seen the positive impact that Blast information has had and I can't wait
to see the benefits it will bring to the Twins. This is going to be a
great season for Baseball fans."
