NTT DOCOMO Selects Wireless Testing Solution from Ixia

IP performance test systems provider Ixia has announced that its wireless testing solution has been chosen by Japanese service provider NTT DOCOMO to validate the functionality of its pre-deployed LTE (News - Alert) network.

 

NTT DOCOMO caters to a base of 55 million customers in Japan.

 

'As LTE moves from development to deployment, complete and comprehensive testing is an imperative to ensure network reliability and service quality,' said Stephane Teral (News - Alert), principal analyst at Infonetics.

 

'Mobile users today demand faster data speeds and the latest services. LTE will soon start to replace and surpass the speed and service options of today's 3G networks. In order to capture significant market share, service providers like NTT (News - Alert) DOCOMO need to fully and thoroughly test their network's ability to handle millions of users and massive amounts of both voice and data traffic.'

 

Ixia’s (News - Alert) wireless testing solutions including the IxCatapult and IxLoad that are used by products, carriers and telecom equipment manufacturers to test a range of LTE equipment including evolved node Bs “eNode B,” mobility management entities serving gateways , and packet data network gateways, using multi-user emulations.
