GWI Intros c.Support V 8.0

By Vivek Naik, TMCnet Contributor

GWI Software has reportedly ushered in its seventeenth anniversary by introducing the latest release of its flagship Web-based help desk platform called c.Support Version 8.0. The new offering records, tracks, and automates every single interaction with potential and existing customers, and within the company.

The solution also facilitates coordination of discussions, meetings, feed-back and instant recall of any fragment of data throughout the life cycles of multiple and simultaneous deemed processes.
The company claims that it has been able to build in new features and enhance the existing functions because of its unwavering commitment to, and continuous belief in, Research and Development (R&D).
"In a time when many companies have reduced or even suspended R&D on their products, we have committed to our customers to make an even larger investment in our product," said Jill Roberts, VP of Development at GWI. "Having survived a few of these economic downturns in our 17-year history, we have learned that it is more important than ever to keep our product moving forward.”
TMCnet recently reported on the importance of holding on to innovation initiatives and related manpower since these were the only resources that eventually showed the way out in past downturns.
“This release is one of our largest development efforts since the inception of c.Support and lays groundwork for a new round of significant product enhancements in the next 18 to 24 months," said Roberts.
The solution has accommodated built-in extensibility and flexibility to guarantee that live additions of resources and applications, and modifications of sub-solutions do not affect the overall agility of its management and delivery.
Its new View Designer enables customized multimedia content to be seamlessly added to discussions, recalled from any connected and authorized storage device, or removed from immediate view through a series of selection tools and filters.
Another feature, Chart Designer, permits the creation of relevant desktop utility tabs that immediately access data display formats such as bar charts and pie diagrams which can be quickly created within the chart designer environment.
Also, customers consider the new Alert feature an important value addition that facilitates appropriate and immediate resource re-allocation and reprioritization based on instant alerts they receive independent of location and event.
"The implications of this new feature are far-reaching," said Andrew Stevens, Network Services Manager for the State of Massachusetts Department of Industrial Accidents. "I could be in a management meeting and be alerted that a critical threshold is about to be exceeded."
