Alternative energy company Alchemy Enterprises is making a shift in the alternative power industry with its acquisition of a new electric battery known as Electric Power Cell Technology ("EPCT"). According to officials at Alchemy, the technology could provide electrical energy for various applications for a cleaner, more environmentally friendly power source. The research and development is a part of a joint venture with NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratories

 

The electricity, which is used to power engines and other propulsion devices, pumps a fluid consisting of base earth metal and salt water into the power cell and when catalyzed by air, it exchanges electrons which generate electricity. When the energy from the liquid is depleted, it is pumped into a storage tank where it is re-charged, ready to be distributed into another electrical power cell for re-use.

 

“We have acquired what we believe to be a paradigm shifting technology for the alternative energy industry. Economic, ecologic, and geopolitical realities dictate our need to move away from petroleum as a primary energy source. Our EPCT is believed to provide an economical, safe, clean, renewable, and practical solution to these needs. Alchemy is now, along with NASA/JPL, fully developing the technology and commencing negotiations for immediate application in the transportation and energy storage industries," said Jonathan R. Read, President and CEO of Alchemy Enterprises in a press release.

 

Alchemy is currently working with NASA/JPL to prepare for the public demonstration of the Electric Power Cell.
