Polycom Appoints VideoCentric as its Strategic Partner for New Line of Telepresence Systems

By Anshu Shrivastava, TMCnet Contributor

Polycom has announced that it has appointed VideoCentric as one of its strategic partners for its new line of Telepresence (News - Alert) systems, the ATX.

This latest announcement follows VideoCentric’s successful accreditation as a specialist integrator of Polycom’s (News - Alert) Architected Telepresence Experience solution.

Thames Valley, England-based VideoCentric is an integrator and reseller of video conference, telepresence and streaming solutions. The company markets its products and services primarily in the U.K., but it has also formed associations with other Companies worldwide to facilitate the global supply and support of major corporations and system integrators.

“We are delighted to be one of the few Polycom partners considered for the integration of ATX solutions across the whole of England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland and have the technical knowledge, skills and equipment to support the solution,” said David Shimell, sales director at VideoCentric UK.

With the ATX 300, customers will get the power and quality of the standards-based Polycom RPX and TPX immersive telepresence solutions, but customized to meet the customer’s own requirements at a very competitive price, said Shimell.

The Polycom ATX 300 solution allows meeting spaces, furniture, displays and décor to be customized for unique use models and environmental requirements. In addition, content displays can also be incorporated into the room design to address particular collaboration applications, said company officials.

Moreover, the Polycom ATX 300 solution is interoperable with Polycom RPX HD and TPX HD solutions, and also all standards-based video conferencing products. Company officials said the solution will help customers to maximize their capital investment and continue to use traditional video solutions.

VideoCentric has appointed an exclusive furniture manufacturer to ensure that ATX solutions can be complimented by made-to-measure tables, credenzas, stands and panelling in a choice of more than wood colours, said VideoCentric officials.

VideoCentric’s sales and technical staff, working in Wokingham, Bristol and Edinburgh, are expected to have undertaken specific Polycom ATX training. Company officials said that they will be inviting customers to free technology demonstrations.

In addition, the company also plans to arrange tours of its furniture manufacturer’s production site in Bedfordshire for those wishing to have a complete tailor-made solution designed.
