By Anuradha Shukla, TMCnet Contributing Editor
Nortel ( News - Alert) has been selected by GISAD Telekom to provide and manage hosted VoIP solutions. Nortel’s solutions will help capture new customers, increase traffic for existing services, enhance network quality and reliability as well as reduce operating costs.
GISAD Telekom will use the hosted solutions to deliver national and international long distance VoIP services to business customers throughout Turkey, from a new Nortel Hosted Solutions Center in Istanbul.
“Nortel is making it possible for us to extend advanced services to our customers much more quickly and simply than we’ve been able to do before,” said Can Kiral, president, Technology and Telecommunication Group, GISAD Telekom in a statement to the press.
Kiran believes that by using a hosted solution, they will be able to take advantage of the latest technologies without having to manage the network themselves.
According to Dietmar Wendt, president, Global Services, Nortel, Telecom deregulation has created a wealth of new opportunities for service providers in Turkey.
“Our new Hosted Solutions Center in Istanbul introduces a new services delivery model that can help operators like GISAD Telekom take full advantage of these opportunities more quickly and cost-effectively,” said Wendt.
The hosted solutions and network managed services are provided by Nortel as part of its Global Services portfolio, which offers a full range of network application, implementation, management and support services for end-to-end, multi-vendor, multi-technology networks.
