NuVox Launches SIP Trunking ServicesBy Tim Gray, TMCnet Web Editor Communications provider NuVox (News - Alert) announced today the availability of SIP Trunking to its Southeast and Midwest customers.
As SIP Trunking has expanded in recent years, helping businesses establish more efficient bandwidth – along with enhanced voice and data connections to the web, PSTN, and private MPLS data networking services – companies like NuVox have been rolling out services to regions of the country previous ill equipped to handle the growing technology.
Now, these comapnys are banking on SIP eventually becoming the standard method of delivering voice and data connectivity to businesses.
"The release of this product allows our customers to become more efficient and benefit from the latest communications technology," said Chris Benyo, executive vice president of Sales and Marketing for NuVox. The idea behind businesses using a Session Initiation Protocol (News - Alert), or SIP, connection is to help simplify the administration because the SIP connection typically will use the same Internet connection that is used for normal data.
Benyo says NuVox SIP Trunking is compatible with a variety of premise-based IPPBX systems including Cisco, Avaya (News - Alert), Ingate, and Digium to date. The service features Quality of Service (QoS) solutions to meet the requirements of customers and offers a Service Level Agreement (SLA) that guarantees against jitter, latency, and packet loss, according to the company.
NuVox SIP Trunking services are immediately available to business customers in Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, South Carolina and Tennessee.
