Cramer Enhances Growth Strategy with T-Soft Acquisition

TMCnet Communications and Broadband Columnist

Cramer, an Enterprise OSS software company, has announced the acquisition of the assets of T-Soft, a provider of network data collection and analysis software for the telecommunications industry. The purchase is being positioned as evidence of Cramer’s continued growth and product portfolio expansion to help the company deliver best-in-class OSS solutions for next-generation networks and services to Tier 1 operators.

The solution from T-Soft is designed to discover network infrastructure and maintain a live connection to network resources that reflect actual network configurations. By delivering a comprehensive set of productized adaptors, the solution will integrate with Cramer’s data synchronization product, Cramer SyncEngine.

The integration of T-Soft and Cramer products is intended to provide customers with a powerful, pre-integrated solution to discover and reconcile network and inventory data to accelerate deployment and support assurance of next-generation services. The T-Soft solution will become the Cramer DiscoveryEngine.

According to Guy Dubois, President and CEO of Cramer, the success of next-generation service strategies will depend on the speed and accuracy of service introduction, fulfillment and assurance. This acquisition demonstrates Cramer’s commitment to providing an end-to-end service automation capability based on accurate network representation. It also allows Cramer customers to dramatically reduce deployment times.

Both T-Soft and Cramer customers stand to gain from the pre-integration of DiscoveryEngine with Cramer’s existing OSS platform. Through single platform functionality expansion, carriers will reduce OSS complexity, shortening deployment times and lowering total cost of ownership. Customers can also realize greater economies of scale as the ongoing development of DiscoveryEngine within the Cramer roadmap will further streamline the OSS platform.

A common inventory core provides the basis for the integration of the new OSS products, giving Cramer a robust mechanism for the addition of new products to its portfolio. By eliminating many of the risks inherent in integrating different technologies, Cramer will be better positioned to grow market share. This acquisition exemplifies Cramer’s potential with the transaction-oriented inventory platform to converge previously standalone OSS applications in a single architectural platform.

Don Gibson, CTO at Cramer, noted that it has always been a company strategy to place inventory at the core of the OSS instead of providing a passive database record. The power of inventory at the core means that Cramer can use the inventory to drive the systematic integration of wider OSS functionality within one, converged platform.

DiscoveryEngine is available for immediate sale while integration with the Cramer suite is planned for later this year.

By focusing its growth strategy on providing customers with solutions that will help lower cost, reduce time-to-market and enhance customer service, Cramer is hitting on all the key points that are considered high priority with next-generation technology companies.

With partnerships such as SAP and Alcatel, Cramer is helping to drive the industry in integrated solutions. This latest acquisition demonstrates not only a smart strategy, but also that Cramer is progressing with its customers.
