SPIRIT's Audio Engine Comes to Freescale Chips

Freescale Semiconductor (News - Alert) choses SPIRIT’s Audio Engine for quad-core, programmable digital signal processor (DSP) chips.

 

Freescale Semiconductor reportedly has chosen SPIRIT’s Audio Engine to support audio on Freescale’s quad-core, programmable digital signal processor chips.

Spirit DSP, a provider of voice and video software engines, and RMI, a supplier of multi-core, multi-threaded processors for communications and rich media applications since 1996 is used in over 80 countries and powers more than 100 million voice channels. The company, as TMCnet reported, recently signed partnership and platform license agreement to deliver high quality voice and video over IP for RMI’s Alchemy Processor (News - Alert) family, an advanced MIPS-compatible processor solution.

 

Spirit DSP has landed China-based networking giant Huawei Technologies. Huawei will license SPIRIT’s TeamSpirit 3.0 Voice Engine PC, which enhanced the voice quality for VoIP calls.
