For those looking for a network with speed and one that can be easily available to them whenever they need it, Novatel Wireless (
News -
Alert) Inc. has announced their latest modem, a HSUPA Mobile Broadband device offering improved speed and size.
Novatel's latest wireless broadband solution, the Ovation MC950D USB Modem not only boasts a small form factor but also upload and downlink speeds equal to or better than home DSL
and cable modems.
Even over legacy mobile data modems, the MC950D performs notably faster-- supporting downlink speeds of 7.2 Mbps and uplink speeds of 2.1 Mbps.
This empowers users and provides them with a simple, convenient sized-device that is durable and can be carried around with them for instant on the go mobile broadband access, or for use in the home. The MC950D is a tri-band HSPA and quad band EDGE/GPRS
modem.
Key features of the device include improved performance in noisy and highly mobile environments, as well as the inclusion of Mobilink Lite Connection Manager Software. The software is pre-installed on the device, "significantly improving the user's out-of-box experience by eliminating the need to install drivers from a CD," a recent news release noted.
According to the news release, the Ovation MC950D is in the final stages of testing with leading carriers throughout EMEA, and is expected to be commercially available this quarter through a variety of Novatel Wireless's new and existing tier-one operator customers.
