"Sorry I lost service." If you're tired of telling someone this every time you have to call them back because your cell phone call drops, you're not alone. According to a new Cell Phone Signal Survey, many consumers are going to extremes just to keep a signal.
When it comes to making a call indoors at places like home, these signals are increasingly harder to keep and as a result, its not too strange to see someone talking on their cell phone and walking around with their head in an uncomfortably tilted position.
The survey was conducted online by Harris Interactive (

The survey uncovered that 69 percent of cell phone owners who've made calls at home have lost or missed calls because of poor signal reception or dead zones within their homes, and as a result have done unusual things in hopes of keeping or attaining a signal.
Some of the verbatim responses included,
"Stood in the closet with the light off"
"Hang out the window"
"Stand on high things like a couch or chair."
Commenting on the surveys findings, Lloyd R. Meese, President and CEO of Wi-Ex said in a statement to the press, "As cell phones have become more integrated into our lives, consumers are demanding better reception at home, in the office and on the go. Our recent survey shows just how far people will go in order to improve their cell phone signal."
With Wi-Ex's zBoost suite of products now available, consumers have a way to keep their indoor signal---without needing to be an acrobat.
The product improves indoor cell phone coverage by capturing the wireless signal outside and bringing the strength of that signal indoors. The products are compatible with 800MHz and 1900MHz and do not work with Nextel. They come in 4 models ranging in price from $299-$399.
