New handsets are being introduced regularly by all the major manufacturers… LG, Nokia, Samsung ( News - Alert), Motorola, Sanyo, and others… and their users need headsets that are compatible. These days, that means Bluetooth connectivity, not only because of the convenience of wireless connectivity, but also because many other devices are or can be Bluetooth-enabled as well, extending the usefulness of the headsets.
Canadian developer of personal audio technology Gennum Corporation is doing its part to keep pace, unveiling its newest product, its nX6000 Bluetooth 2.0 headset, which sports the latest design and technology features, including the latest in noise cancellation, which Gennum first made available in its nXZEN model. The company’s latest headset is small — weighing less than half an ounce — yet comfortable — it comes with slimmer removable ear loops that are compatible with eyeglasses and improved ear tip design.
“The technology behind the Bluetooth market has developed dramatically over the past three years,” said Don Shaver, Director of Product Development of the Audio and Wireless Division at Gennum. “The nX6000 is Gennum’s answer to this growth.”
The nX6000 has a mini-B-USB charge port for a common charging solution that also enables users to download new features from the Web. In addition, battery charge levels are indicated with a multicolor LED indicator. A new multifunction button enables users to easily access the most common features, and the volume controls have been enhanced to offer a more natural, responsive feel for better control.
Gennum’s patented FRONTWAVE Extreme noise cancellation algorithm has been combined with Digital Voice Isolation, a dual microphone array that isolates the user’s voice from ambient noise. This blend of technologies creates an advanced noise cancellation system that isolates the speaker, eliminating background noise, even in noisy environments.
To find out more about the latest technologies pervading the wireless industry, come talk to the technology vendors and developers themselves. They will be in Florida later this month, from January 23-26, for INTERNET TELEPHONY Conference & EXPO East in Fort Lauderdale.
