Alltel Wireless Offers New App to Help Identify Threats

By Stefania Viscusi, TMCnet Assistant Editor

For all those involved in ensuring homeland security, including law enforcement, HAZMAT, bomb squads, paramedics and others, the need for advanced technology that provides, rapid, critical information on potential threats as well as appropriate responses, is a must.

To offer these much needed capabilities to public safety officials, Alltell Wireless has introduced the HazMaster G3, a fast and easy to use decision support system from Allluviam.

An addition to their mobile software solutions for businesses, the HazMasterG3 delivers analytical tools and accredited guidance to all emergency responders - from planning through response.

The offering provides details on over 118,000 threats including chemical, biological, radiological agents and IEDs. Using the solution, which has earned certification from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security as an Approved Product for Homeland Security and is designated as a Qualified Anti-Terrorism Technology (QATT), public safety officials will be able to easily make the right decision in these critical situations as the application offers support for such things as quickly changing the role of Improvised Explosive Devices (IED) in law enforcement, both civilian and military.

The application also offers tools for bomb technicians and provides modeling for precursor outcomes, chemical reactions and is able to identify unknown materials in less than three seconds.

“Alltel (News - Alert) Wireless recognizes the role that a wireless device can play in assisting public safety agencies across the country,” said Dave Maddox, director of advanced data solutions for Alltel Wireless in a statement to the press.

“We are proud to offer HazMasterG3 on select phones, as it has the potential to not only help law enforcement and emergency responders identify threats, but the application can also provide details needed to help save lives.”
