In a bid to further their relationship for directory assistance (DA) services, Nuance (News - Alert) Communications and Jingle Networks, the operator of 1-800-FREE411, have announced a new strategic partnership that extends the companies' existing relationship not only for use of Nuance's speech technology to improve 1-800-FREE411 caller experience, but now, Nuance will also refer and market the Jingle Ad Platform to its customers for their audio ad needs.

Jingle Networks, which launched in 2005, offers advertiser-paid DA/ DQ services that save consumers money from traditional high cost 411 fees and gives advertisers the ability to reach a highly targeted audience who has an immediate need.

Nuance's speech recognition platform provides Jingle Networks' Audio Ad platform with a better caller experience through improved automation rates.

"We tested numerous voice recognition solutions and determined that the Nuance Voice Platform for Directory Assistance provided the highest overall automation rates for business name and business category search enabling 1-800-FREE411 to deliver the best overall consumer experience. We look forward to deepening our relationship with Nuance such that Jingle ad serving capabilities complement the Nuance Mobile platform for each company's global customer base," commented Scott Kliger, founder and chief technology officer, Jingle Networks.

And as more and more consumers call voice search when they need a telephone number, the popularity of free DA services increases. Jingle Networks announced recently they hit a key milestone by processing 250 million calls since their launch. They also noted saving consumers over $400 million in 411 fees.  Industry analysts are also expecting free DA services will generate 1.5 billion calls per year in the US market by 2010.
