Taking Actionable Steps For Improvement in the New Year

By Mostafa Razzak, Principal, JMR Connect

The new year is upon us, but will it be one in which we’ll improve our lives truly for the better? It’s easy to make new year’s resolutions, but much harder to see them through. Part of the recipe for success is to write down specific goals and how to achieve them. Another part of the equation is holding yourself accountable in some way, such as having a friend or mentor as an accountability buddy. However you get there, it’s time to look forward to the helpful future and embrace positive life changes. Here are a few areas of your life to consider improving upon with some actionable steps and recommendations to help you get started right away.

Keeping Up With Inflation

Inflation is reaching record levels – up to 6.8% – which has spiked to an alarming 30-year high.  That said, why exactly is inflation going up so much, and what are the indicators of inflation in the first place? Inflation is based on the Consumer Price Index (CPI), which is made up of a “basket of indicator markets,” such as healthcare, clothing, transportation, food, and education, just to name a few. It is time to think about strategies of how to invest to stay ahead of the curve.

Thinking About School Differently

As Omicron is forcing many brick and mortar schools to close their physical doors for the time being, it may be a good time to rethink the way we approach schooling in the first place. Schools, for many children, are not safe, as a considerable amount of kids are bullied on a regular basis. What if the future of school can be a better place and more conducive to learning?

Taking Care of Your Health

Let’s hope that some new year’s resolution words about some vague idea of losing weight or going to the gym will be more than false platitudes. It’s not our fault – many of the medical professionals we seek to help us with losing weight are wholly untrained in how to properly deal with weight loss in the long term. Taking long-term, life-altering, actionable steps towards health is surely the better path to go towards weight loss.

The Role of Central Pharmacies

Central pharmacies have been holding the full weight of the world as COVID-19 has been overwhelming hospital systems. Now, more than ever, the central pharmacy and hospital internal pharmacies must be run in an automated and efficient manner.

Time for a New Career?

Maybe this is the time to get a new career. Have you thought about going back to school or learning to code as your next step? You may be surprised to learn that a massively growing industry for career growth is in the legal cannabis industry. Last year alone, cannabusiness was responsible for 321,000 full-time jobs. It’s worth having a look at cannabis jobs in your area.

In Conclusion

While the world is still in a state of uncertainty, we can control our own actions. Let’s take the right steps into the new year and be patient with ourselves.
