How would you like to be considered by leading third parties in the market as, “Cool”? While the term may be more appropriate for 1980s clothing and trends, the designation takes on a whole new meaning when referring to the cloud. Nimbula knows the difference and has been recognized by Gartner (News - Alert).
A Cloud Operating System Company, Nimbula announced its selection by Gartner as a cool vendor, included in the company’s “Cool Vendors in Cloud Management, 2012” report. This is the latest in a series of industry nods for Nimbula, which has also been named by the Cloud Computing Journal as one of the top cloud enablers gaining mind share, and is included on CRN’s Coolest Cloud Vendors list.
To get more insight into why this vendor really is “Cool”, TMC invited Nimbula into the newsroom at Interop (News - Alert) 2012. Catch the full story and learn more about what this vendor is up to now and plans for the near future, watch the video below.
In its report, Gartner suggests that as enterprises deploy private clouds, there has been a growing interest in the ability to manage them. Likewise, hybrid cloud implementations are also increasing and innovative vendors and technologies are well suited to help with the management of infrastructure resources to provide the security, quality and availability these companies need.
To meet this need – and remain Cool – Nimbula offers the Nimbula Director, its flagship product. The Nimbula Director enables the migration from bare metal to an infrastructure cloud in a matter of hours. The company recently released the Nimbula Director 2.0, which offers a number of key benefits over other solutions, including extensibility, VMware support, application management, DNS and VPN services, and enterprise readiness.
"We are honored to be recognized by Gartner as a Cool Vendor in Cloud Management. This is a great reward for executing on our differentiated strategy," said Reza Malekzadeh, VP of Marketing at Nimbula, in a company statement. "Rather than building yet another management layer for existing virtualization environments, we set to build an innovative approach to infrastructure management from the ground up focused on ease of use, strong security and scalability."
