Huawei recently announced that it will demonstrate the industry’s highest performance data center switch at the Interop Spring 2012 in Las Vegas. The next-generation data switches from Huawei (News - Alert) integrates a full view telepresence and will enable global enterprises to tap into the cloud computing and ICT convergence opportunities. Claimed to possess the industry's largest switching capacity and highest performance, the CloudEngine 12800 will include key highlights showcased at the Interop (News - Alert) event.
In a release, William Xu, CEO of Huawei Enterprise Business Group said that, "As one of the leading business technology events, Interop is an important platform for us to showcase our advanced products and expand our business globally. We are excited to introduce the CloudEngine 12800, Huawei's latest data center switches that provide the industry's highest performance and help customers build scalable, virtualized and converged data canter networks in the cloud computing era." The company will leverage its high security and high reliability campus solution to power networking connectivity for exhibitors and attendees at Interop.
The CloudEngine 12800 series core switches have a bandwidth of 2Tbps per slot, which is two times that of the industry average, and a large switching capacity of up to 48Tbps, which is thrice that of the industry average. The switches support high-density connectivity for GE, 100GE, 40GE, 10GE interfaces and provide storage, computing, network convergence and network visualization as well.
Zeus Kerravala (News - Alert), principal analyst of ZK Research, mentioned, "The deployment of Cloud-based services brings with it extreme network challenges in the areas of traffic growth, service scale and manageability. With the announcement of the Cloud Fabric Architecture and CloudEngine 12000 series, Huawei is addressing the needs of this environment by providing customers’ solid reference architecture and a highly scalable, converged and fully virtualized platform. This innovative approach will provide mid market through high end enterprise customers the foundation for a customizable network environment managed with a single fabric interface."
The CloudEngine series supports four generations of servers, offering customers an effective means to build a stable and sustainable network infrastructure. Being the industry's first full-view system, the next-gen telepresence solution from Huawei features high-quality full-picture image display, higher bandwidth, and lower power and space consumption capabilities.
