JDSU to Demonstrate Multiple Storage Network Technology at Interop, EMC World 2011

- Alert), the company behind the Xgig test solution, has announced its plans to participate in multiple storage network technology demonstrations at both Interop and EMC (News - Alert) World 2011, taking place this week in Las Vegas.
Scheduled for May 9-12, 2011, these events provide the perfect platform for JDSU to continue its focus on leading the Fibre Channel (FC) test market. JDSU has partnered with Emulex (News
- Alert), a company focused on converged networking solutions for the data center, to take part in the first public demonstration of an operational end-to-end 16 G Fibre Channel system. This system will be comprised of the JDSU Xgig test solution, as well as the recently announced Emulex XE201 I/O Controller. The 16G Fibre Channel demonstration will be showcased at EMC World 2011 (Emulex booth #1118) and Interop (News - Alert) (JDSU booth #2429).
Considered critical technology, the 16G Fibre Channel is necessary to meet the increase in cloud computing demand, as well as the significant growth of fixed and mobile voice, video and data traffic that is being driven by remote applications, Internet commerce and social networks.
In delivering its Xgig solution, JDSU is providing the advanced solutions needed by storage equipment manufacturers, field service engineers and data center IT professionals seeking to effectively maintain, provision and access the next-generation storage equipment necessary to running today’s businesses.
December of 2010 saw the introduction of the 16G Fibre Channel Analyzer blade for the Xgig 5000. In the process, JDSU provided the market with the world’s first complete 16G Fibre Channel test solution.
The Xgig is now the only tool to enable NEM storage vendors to solve difficult 16G design issues and ensure robust performance as a result of new 4-port blade and advanced Jammer and Load Tester capabilities. Now, storage vendors can get their products to market in the shortest time possible and share traces with their eco-system partners to facilitate interoperability testing as additional 16G Fibre Channel equipment becomes available.
JDSU will also partner with Dell (News
- Alert) to demonstrate their latest iSCSI over DCB data center storage technology within the EqualLogic storage solution operating in a converged network environment. This solution leverages the enhancements characterized as Data Center Bridging (DCB) technology and will add to the reliability that Enterprise customers require for their data center storage needs. The recently released new-generation Medusa Labs Test Tools (MLTT) 5.0 test suite from JDSU is being used by Dell to provide advanced analysis and benchmarking capabilities of storage systems that characterize the impact of sharing the bandwidth with other applications. As a member of the Ethernet Alliance, JDSU will also take part in a live demonstration at Interop at the Alliance booth #2358 to showcase some of the company’s latest products that have been developed for use in next-generation data centers.
